He scored his highest score of 178 in the 2015 World Cup against Afghanistan. He made his World Cup debut in 2015 and will be playing his 3rd World Cup in 2023.

The former Aussie captain Ricky Ponting has won the World Cup for Australia in two consecutive years, in 2003 and 2007. He is the most successful captain of Australian team. Punter, fondly nicknamed by his teammates, has played 46 matches, bashed five centuries, and scored 1743 runs at an average of 45.86 in World Cup.

The former Sri Lankan skipper, Kumar Sangakkara, is one of the greatest batsmen and most successful wicket-keepers in the history of cricket. Sangakkara was added to ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2021. He is the third-highest run-scorer in World Cup. The Lankan has scored five hundred in 37 matches and accumulated 1532 runs at a dashing average of 56.74.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has registered a list of records under his name. He is the highest run-scorer in the World Cup. Sachin played 45 matches until his last World Cup appearance in 2011 and scored 2278 runs, including six centuries in World Cup. He also holds the record for scoring the most fifties in World Cup history (15).

34-years-old Indian captain Rohit Sharma has already registered six centuries and is the only batter to score five centuries in a single edition of Cricket World Cup. Not only in ICC events, he is also the five-times trophy-winning captain of Mumbai Indians, one of the franchises of Indian Premier League’s (IPL). He has not only won matches for his team but has also added numerous records to his name. Rohit is the only batsman in cricket history who has scored three double centuries.
