Top 6 Futures Bets You Need To Make Today

It doesn’t matter anymore what day it is or what season it is. Futures picks can be posted at any time. for the Super Bowl, for the finals and playoff berths, even MLB futures on the World Series are available in December.

Bookies.com handicapper Adam Thompson is hitting on 61.6% of his this season, is at a massive 78.6% on so far and was 59.1% on MLB picks in 2022. With over a decade in the handicapping industry, including as a lead handicapper for CBS Sports, Thompson has established himself as a go-to source for major pro sports picks.

Here are his favorite futures for each of those three pro sports right now priced at +1000 or higher.

Best NFL Futures To Bet

Super Bowl Matchup

The last seven Super Bowl champions have finished in the top six in scoring for the season. Yes, offense now wins championships in the NFL.

The six teams right now in that category: The Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Bills, Lions and Seahawks. Of those teams, the Seahawks and Lions rank 30th and 31st, respectively, in points allowed.

What we’re left with are the top four favorites on the odds board. Buffalo is +350, Philadelphia is +425, Kansas City +500 and Dallas +800.

When it comes to AFC defenses, the Bills rank No. 2 in the NFL in points allowed, the Chiefs are only 18th. But home-field advantage will be huge. Buffalo allows 18.6 ppg on the road, KC only 20.2 ppg at home. If the Chiefs can secure their field … it’s a toss-up.

Meanwhile, Dallas is surging. Since Dak Prescott returned from injury, the Cowboys are averaging 37.6 ppg, with a defense that ranks top five in points and yards allowed, as well as takeaways.

Win Super Bowl

  • Los Angeles Chargers at

The optional bonus pick. Seeking a trend-bucking dark horse? The Chargers are a mediocre 14th in scoring but have played most of the season without star DE Joey Bosa and All-Pro tackle Rashawn Slater, both out since Week 3 – but both are expected back for the final few games of the regular season and beyond.

At 7-6, the Chargers are one game behind the Patriots (7-6) for the final spot in the AFC Playoffs based on a tiebreaker. But the tie (conference record) could change, and L.A. has the second-easiest schedule going forward. Few teams in recent seasons have frustrated, or even challenged, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs like the Chargers.

Best NBA Futures To Bet Today

NBA Finals Matchup

It’s tough to separate Boston and Milwaukee. They’re the top two teams in the Eastern Conference standings. The last three seasons, they’ve split the 10 regular season games. Last year, Boston beat Milwaukee in seven games in the playoffs, but the Bucks were missing All-Star Khris Middleton. We love them both.

We also love the Clippers – when healthy. The team is 5-1 so far when Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are in the lineup. Using a similar mindset helps us eliminate the Lakers (6-10 with LeBron James and Anthony Davis), 76ers (2-4 with Joel Embiid and James Harden) and Nets (4-7 with the Durant/Kyrie/Simmons triumvirate). It also strengthens the argument for both the Bucks (4-2 with Giannis and Middleton) and the Celtics (19-7 with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum).

Best MLB Futures To Bet Today

Win World Series 2023

  • Atlanta Braves, Win World Series at

Only the Dodgers scored more runs than the Braves in the National League, only the Dodgers and the Mets (by 3 runs) allowed fewer.

L.A. is decently ahead of both Atlanta and New York on the odds board. The NL East rivals are each at +1000. Each has value, but the Braves have the feeling of a younger team on the upswing. The Mets were the oldest team in MLB last year. Both teams won 101 games in 2022 but Atlanta feels like the team poised to take that next step.

Ronald Acuna should be fully 100% and back to his old self, since he'll be nearly two years removed a torn ACL, Matt Olson and Michael Harris should be a year better, Ozzie Albies should play more than 60-odd games. The Braves upgraded at catcher and have four elite starters and had the fourth-ranked bullpen in 2022.

For now, there isn’t much value in the Dodgers (+700), Yankees (+900) or Astros (+550). With months still to go before spring training, Atlanta looks to be the top World Series futures value.
