Top four per cent of Premiership players earn more than £400k
The report on the salary cap in the Premiership has been released. It shows that the average salary spent on marquee players in 20-21 was £457,409 per player. The top 24 earners (including 14 marquee stars) received £532,894 on average. The report is the tip of the iceberg according to Rogers. He would like to see the information on salary caps available to the public in a similar way as in NFL, NBA and MLB. Rugby players would not be comfortable sharing their earnings publicly. 10 of marquee player's did not feature in top-24 paid players across the whole league.
