Toronto Raptors vs Indiana Pacers Odds, Player Props, Picks & Predictions (Nov. 22)

Coming off a historic performance in Atlanta last night, the prolific Indiana Pacers (8-5, 5-3 home, 8-5 ATS) return home to face the Toronto Raptors (6-8, 2-4 away, 7-7 ATS) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse at 7:40 pm ET.

Indiana set a new franchise record for points in a single game last night during a 157-152 road win over the Hawks. Toronto, meanwhile, was uncompetitive in a 126-107 loss at Orlando.  Now riding a four-game win streak, Indiana is a modest favorite for Wednesday’s game against Toronto.

Raptors vs Pacers Odds

Wednesday’s NBA odds list the Pacers as 3.5-point home favorites and -162 on the moneyline. Toronto is a +136 underdog to get back in the win column.

Odds as of Nov. 21 on the FanDuel app. NBA bettors still have nine days left to claim the FanDuel promo for November.

The NBA public betting splits for this game show a stark dichotomy in ATS and moneyline betting trends. The Pacers are getting 76% of moneyline handle as of 11:00 am ET, but the Raptors are getting 75% of ATS handle as 3.5-point underdogs.

The Pacers are one of the biggest gainers in the early-season NBA futures. A +12250 longshot to in the NBA Eastern Conference odds on opening day, they have shortened to +5650. Still a longshot in the NBA championship odds, they have also made big improvements in that market (from +25250 to +17500). That’s shorter than the Raptors, who have seen their title odds fade from +12625 on opening day to +20250 now.

Pacers Set Franchise Record in Win Over Hawks

Led by budding superstar Tyrese Haliburton, the Pacers earned a ludicrous 157-152 win in Atlanta last night, despite trailing by 13 on the road at halftime.  Haliburton had a team-high 37 points and season-best 16 assists on 11-18 shooting from the field and 9-15 from beyond the arc. Leading the team at 24.7 PPG, Haliburton also leads the entire NBA in assists (12.0 APG) while running the point on Indiana’s fast-paced offense.

It’s the team’s depth that’s allowed them to average a league-best 128.1 PPG (nearly six points higher than any other team). Eight different Pacers are averaging over 10 PPG. While their frenetic pace helps run up the score, they also rate as the most-efficient offense in the NBA at the moment (122.5 Offensive Rating per NBA.com).

Haliburton’s early-season exploits have him rising up the NBA MVP odds. He’s now among the top-10 favorites, listed at +1800 on the Caesars Sportsbook app.

Toronto Routed in Orlando

The Raptors got off to a slow start in Orlando last night and never recovered. They fell behind 23-18 in the first quarter and never trimmed the lead to fewer than five thereafter. Dennis Schroeder was about the only bright spot, as he piled up a season-high 24 points on 8-13 shooting, including 4-4 from three.

Though the Raps shot 50.7% from the field – and 50% from beyond the arc – they were undone by 23 turnovers, 11 more than Orlando.

The loss dropped Toronto to 2-4 on the road this year, continuing a concerning trend from last season when they were a dismal 14-27 away from home.

With Siakam’s production waning, Scottie Barnes has picked up the slack. The Florida State product is averaging a team-high 19.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, both numbers up dramatically from last year (15.3 PPG, 6.6 RPG). He’s second only to Philadelphia’s Tyrese Maxey in the Most Improved Player odds.

TOR Raptors vs IND Pacers Player Props

Player props and odds from the DraftKings Sportsbook app on Nov. 22.

Haliburton has the highest point total on Wednesday at 23.5, which is more than a point below his season average (24.7). Siakam has the highest total for the Raptors (21.5), which is more than two points over his season average (19.1 PPG), though well under what he averaged last year (24.2).

Raptors vs Pacers Prediction

While Haliburton is the lynchpin and the catalyst, Indiana’s improved depth (compared to last season) is what’s allowed the team to race out to an 8-5 start. As mentioned, eight different players are averaging double-figures for Rick Carlisle’s team, which is playing at the fastest pace in the league (104.62), according to NBA.com.

Playing on back-to-back nights, the Pacers are better equipped to deal with the fatigue than the Raptors, who don’t spread out their minutes as effectively. Four Raptors are averaging over 30 minutes per night, while only six are averaging over 20. The Pacers only have two players averaging over 30 MPG and eight playing at least 20 minutes per game.

While some faces have changed on both sides, it’s worth noting that Indiana took all three games with Toronto last year, including two in Indianapolis by eight points (122-114) and 14 points (118-104) .

Expect Haliburton and the Pacers to hand Toronto another setback as they establish themselves as legitimate contenders for a top-six seed in the East.
