Toronto Raptors vs. New Orleans Pelicans Prediction, Preview, and Odds Sunday’s games have been excluded from this preview, and the 17-31 Toronto Raptors visited the Oklahoma City Thunder as 9-point underdogs. The Raptors have only won one of their previous seven contests. They beat the Chicago Bulls 118-107 on the road this past Tuesday.

Last Friday, the Raptors suffered a heavy 135-106 defeat at the Houston Rockets, who made 59.1% of their field goals. Toronto shot 44.0% from the field (11-for-33 from deep) while handing out just 17 assists. Scottie Barnes led the way for the Raptors with 28 points and seven rebounds, and Immanuel Quickly added 25 points and six assists.

The Raptors are 12th in the Eastern Conference, trailing the No. 10 seed by 4.5 games. They score 114.8 points per 100 possessions (19th in the NBA) while surrendering 117.5 points in return (20th). The Raptors listed RJ Barrett (knee) as questionable for Sunday’s clash against the Thunder. Barrett, who’s tallying 21.0 points per game in the Raptors uniform, has missed three straight games due to a knee injury.

The New Orleans Pelicans (28-21; 24-21-1 ATS) snapped a three-game skid last Wednesday, outlasting the Houston Rockets 110-99. Two days later, the Pels wrapped up a four-game road trip with a 114-113 victory at the San Antonio Spurs.

The Pelicans barely edged the lowly Spurs as firm 8.5-point favorites. New Orleans erased a 12-point second-half deficit despite going just 7-for-26 from downtown. Zion Williamson led the charge for the Pelicans with 33 points and eight rebounds, and CJ McCollum accounted for 21 points and four assists.

New Orleans is tied with the Phoenix Suns for the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. The Pelicans are 13th in the league in adjusted offensive efficiency (117.6 points per 100 possessions) and ninth in adjusted defensive efficiency (114.0).

Insiders Status:

As mentioned, New Orleans doesn’t lean on 3-point shooting. The Pelicans record 98.8 possessions per 48 minutes (16th in the league), and each of their last three games has gone under the total. Just one of their previous five contests has seen more than 230 points on the scoreboard.

Hereof, I’m going with the under. The Raptors register 99.1 possessions per 48 minutes (13th), and the under is 7-2 in their previous nine showings. Five of the last seven encounters between the Raptors and Pelicans have gone under, too.

Prediction: Go under 235.5 points (-110)
