Training partnership on verge of ‘special' group 1 victory

Sterling Alexiou and Gerald Ryan are chasing their first Group 1 in partnership this Saturday. AlexIou has helped train a number of Group One winners at Rosehill stable. Ryan is a 24-time Group1 winner in his own right. Two-year-olds Brosnan and Green Shadows will line-up in the JJ Atkins Stakes (1600m) and Flying Crazy will be one of the emergencies for the $1.5m Stradbroke Handicap.

Brosnan and Green Shadows are training together. They are going to the JJ Atkins Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on May 21. Brosnan finished seventh in the Sires' Produce Stake behind Fireburn in April and sixth in a 1400m event at Melbourne on June 21st. Green Shadow finished fifth in BRC Sire's Producing Stages last start.

Flying Crazy is being aimed at the Stradbroke Handicap. The gelding is 24th in the order of entry and would need several runners above him to gain a start in a field of 18. Flying Crazy missed the chance to get exemption into the race after finishing eighth in Group 3 Fred Best Classic last month.
