Two Cents Rugby: Seven players who are primed for a great 2023

The international rugby season is over. The Six Nations Championship is not far away. Two Cents Rugby has picked his players to watch in 2023.

Ethan Blackadder has been out for six months with a shoulder injury. He is a versatile loose forward who can play at six, seven and eight positions. There are limited World Cup places for All Blacks in 2021.

Henry Arundell won his first England cap against Australia in 2022. He was nominated for the Breakthrough Player of the Year award. A lot of improvement is possible for Aundell, but he is under an injury cloud.

Ross Byrne is competing for the fly-half spot at international level with Johnny Sexton. Byrne's form in 2022 looks encouraging for 2023.

Mateo Carreras is a player who could be a star for Argentina at the Rugby World Cup in 2023. He has scored seven tries in his last seven games for Newcastle Falcons.

Joseph Dweba is one of the players who are primed for a great 2023. He is a good athlete and has the potential to have a very good year in 20th century.

Morgan Morris is a workhorse and has to be on Warren Gatland's radar. He's one of the best forwards in the United Rugby Championship for metres carried and bagged a couple of tries.

Jiwon Gu is a tighthead prop who plays for Kobelco Steelers and Japan. He played three Tests in 2022 and was effective against New Zealand and France. Gu will be 29 by the World Cup next year.
