Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou: Legendary MMA trainer explains Ngannou gameplan

There is no doubt that Francis Ngannou is a huge underdog going into this weekend's fight against WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

The contest will be Ngannou's professional boxing debut after making a name for himself in the world of MMA, but it's clear that the Cameroonian is taking the contest seriously.

With boxing legend Mike Tyson in his corner as head trainer, Ngannou is looking to give himself the best possible chance of producing one of boxing's biggest upsets.

Legendary MMA trainer Jav Mendez, who has overseen the careers of some legendary fighters including Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov, is expecting Ngannou to adopt an aggressive gameplan come Saturday night.

"Ngannou is going to do the opposite to [Dillon] Danis, he's going to come out and fight. Ngannou is going to come and try to knock his fricking head off," Mendez told Casino Alpha

"He ain't coming just to take a pay cheque, that's a real fighter. He's a world champion in MMA for a reason, he's going to come and fight.

"He's not going cover up, cover up to survive - no way. Ngannou is the real deal, he's going to come and try and win.

"Will he win? The odds are against him, but he's going to try.”
