Tyson Fury willing to bet £100,000 on brother Tommy's fight with Jake Paul

Heavyweight champion Fury has backed his brother Tommy to defeat YouTube star Paul in New York this summer, with the British star handed the opportunity to beat Paul in a rescheduled showdown on August 6

Tyson Fury will put his money where his mouth is and bet £100,000 on his brother Tommy beating Jake Paul.

Undefeated star Tommy Fury will finally touch gloves with long-term rival Paul at Madison Square Garden in August after weeks of talks saw their bout finally rescheduled. Fury will look to defeat Paul in a fresh opportunity after being forced to pull out from their planned clash last December with a broken rib.

Fury will have a lot to live up to with his brother Tyson reigning as the heavyweight world champion. And the 'Gypsy King' has made a confident prediction ahead of the grudge match. "I'm backing Tommy and I will put my money where my mouth is, Fury said while discussing the bout in an interview with iFL TV.

"I have got £100,000 with anybody. I'll put it on Tommy and that's it, that's how I feel about it. If Tommy Fury can't win against Jake Paul he has no right in being a fighter. I think Tommy knocks him out and he has got to believe in himself and go over there and put on a show. He has to enjoy it as he's getting paid a lot of money to fight a guy who hasn't fought on an actual boxer.

"I don't think either of them having anything to lose. He has had eight fights and he is getting paid a lot of money and Jake Paul has never fought an actual boxer. Let's just say Tommy gets paid millions of pounds for nothing if he loses, because he wouldn't have won any title belt in England ever if he can't beat Jake Paul."

Fury could be the man under pressure on the night with many expecting the British star to prevail having had a natural background in boxing. The rising star was confident throughout the previous fight build-up and believes he is the man to end his rival's short boxing career.

Paul released a video shortly after the fight was confirmed, hitting out at Fury before later paying respect to his fighting background and brother Tyson. However Fury is confident his performance in America will "shut up" Paul for good and end their vicious war of words.

“The Paul brothers’ boxing charade is about to come to an end once and for all,” Fury said during a press release after the fight was confirmed. “I am a boxer. My opponent plays boxing. Jake Paul has been dressed up to look like a boxer against retirees from other sports. On August 6, I will show the world that he does not belong in the ring.

"Thank you to my promoter Frank Warren, Most Valuable Promotions and Showtime for letting me permanently shut up Jake Paul. I look forward to headlining Madison Square Garden and knocking out this clown.”
