UEFA Champions League betting tips for Matchweek one

The UEFA Champions League returns this week as another season of top-class European football begins.

After finally lifting the famous trophy for the first time last season, Manchester City will be among the favourites this year.

Only one team has ever retained the Champions League and that is Real Madrid. The perennial Champions League contenders will no doubt feature prominently as the campaign progresses.

All 32 teams will be in action for the first time across Tuesday and Wednesday, and we're here to bring you five betting tips that we hope can help you win some serious cash.

Newcastle to win to nil : 4/1 on Boylesports

Newcastle return to the Champions League for the first time in two decades and face a tricky test when they take on AC Milan at the San Siro.

While it has been a tough start to the season, Newcastle showed their defensive chops in Saturday's 1-0 win over Brentford.

Milan made an excellent start to the season with three wins from their opening three games. However, they were hammered 5-1 by arch rivals Inter at the weekend and could still be vulnerable at the back.

Feyenoord to Win Each Half & Feyenoord to Have Most Corners in Each Half : 10/1 on Paddy Power

Reigning Dutch champions Feyenoord began their season with two poor draws against Fortuna Sittard and Sparta Rotterdam. However, they have found their scoring touch in recent weeks and have won their last three games on the spin in impressive fashion by scoring 17 goals and conceding just three (5-1, 6-1, 6-1).

Celtic have yet to hit top-form this season and tasted defeat early in the campaign away to Kilmarnock in the Scottish League Cup. They followed that up with a draw at home to St Johnstone before beating Rangers 1-0 at Ibrox in the first Old Firm derby of the season.

Under Brendan Rodgers Celtic have had a patchy European record and based on current form, the Dutch side should have too much firepower.

Erling Haaland to score a hat-trick : 5/1 on Paddy Power

Manchester City will almost certainly beat Red Star Belgrade when they face off at the Etihad this week.

Since joining City, Haaland has played in most games and will be eager to get on the scoresheet this week.

His start to the season has been strange to say the least. He scored twice on the opening night of the season and netted a hat-trick against Fulham.

However, in games against West Ham and Sheffield United he has - despite scoring in each - missed a string of chances that you would expect him to bury.

Sooner or later, these will also go in and Haaland will score even more goals.

Bayern Munich to beat Manchester United 3-0 : 12/1 on Betway

While Bayern have had a bit of a stuttering start to the season, United have been pretty poor in almost every game that they have played.

Attacking doesn't seem to be much of a problem for the Red Devils, but they have been wide open at the back and at times their midfield has been non-existent.

Wolves' energy caused serious problems as did Spurs,' while Nottingham Forest should have won after going 2-0 up inside five minutes.

The warning signs are there and unless United improve significantly, a hammering is on the cards. Take into account their wretched away form and you have all the ingredients of a tough night in Europe.

Harry Kane first goalscorer: 15/8 on Ladbrokes

Kane has had a good start to life in Bavaria and has bagged four goals already in the red of Bayern, the most recent of which was his 300th club career goal.

He has scored five goals against United in his club career and will be eager to get one over on Erik Ten Hag's side.

Add in United's habit of making slow starts and this could well be set up beautifully for a Kane opening goal at the Allianz Arena.
