UFC star Israel Adesanya arrested in New York days after losing title to Alex Pereria

Israel Adesanya was stopped in the final round by Alex Pereria at UFC 281 last weekend. He was later arrested at New York's JFK airport for allegedly carrying knuckle dusters through security. Adeanya is expected to be handed an immediate rematch. He won the belt when he defeated Robert Whittaker in 2019 before successfully defending it five times. His only other defeat came when stepping up to challenge light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz last year. It was his third fight in 10 months. The 33-year-old intends to take some time out before returning for what would be his fourth fight against Pereira.
