UNLV coaching search: Sources add Ed Orgeron, Chris Petersen to list
Sources tell the Review-Journal that Ed Orgeron and Chris Petersen are in the running to replace Marcus Arroyo as the football coach at UNLV. Mike Stoops and Kevin Sumlin are also mentioned. Arrojo was fired last week after a 5-7 season and a 7-23 record in three seasons as coach. Orgerson won a national championship at LSU and was hired as an interim coach after Les Miles was sacked in 2016. Petersen won seven conference championships during his coaching career. Sumli is currently the coach and general manager of the Houston Gamblers in U.S. Football League. Stoop is the inside linebacker coach of Kentucky and he was the head coach in Arizona for 8 years.
