Up and Coming Curlin Colt Takes Vosburgh
Elite Power (Curlin) won the GII Vosburgh S. at Belmont on Saturday. He will go to the GI Breeders' Cup Sprint. Eastern Bay (E Dubai) came second. He has been perfect since kicking off the 2022 season with a third-place finish at Churchill May 7. His trainer Bill Mott hopes to have another race next year. The winner of the race gets a ticket to Breeder's Cup. It's nice to win a 'Win and You're In' and all the fees are paid.
Elite Power is a $900,000 KEESEPE graduate. He is bred on the same Curlin/Vindication cross as GI Preakness S. winner Exaggerator. His fourth dam is champion 2-year-old filly and GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies heroine Eliza.
