UTEP vs. Oklahoma Football Prediction and Preview

Brent Venables takes over as the new head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners football team. He replaces Lincoln Riley, who left for USC in November. The Sooner's first game was against North Texas, which won 31-13. The Miners lost their season opener to Conference USA rival North Carolina.

UTEP completed just 54.3 percent of its passes last season, but generated an average of 8.9 yards every time the Miners put the ball in the air. The Minters lost to North Texas last week. Gavin Hardison completed 21 of his 48 throws for 293 yards and a touchdown. Tyrin Smith averaged 18.1 yards on seven receptions and Reynaldo Flores snagged eight balls for 122 yards.

Dillon Gabriel takes over at quarterback for Caleb Williams. Oklahoma's offensive line returns three starters from last year. The Sooners' new run-first offense will pose a stronger test than the one UTEP saw against North Texas. The Miners defense is probably working on its efforts against the run this week in practice.

The Miners performed well in their season debut. Venables is taking over as head coach at Oklahoma. The Sooners should win easily.
