Veronica Ewers achieves childhood dream after making US world championships team

Veronica Ewers is going to the world championships in Wollongong, Australia. It's her first full season as a professional cyclist. She came third at the U.S. national championships and was in the top 10 at Tour de France Femmes this summer. E werid playing soccer for several years and didn't reach the level she needed to make the national squad. She has always dreamed of going on to represent her country one day. If she keeps up her current form, she could be heading to an Olympics soon. The world championship is more significant than the Olympics. For her, it's a big achievement.

Veronica Ewers has been selected for the US women's world championships team. She will be racing with Kristen Faulkner, Emma Langley, Krista Doebel-Hickok, Skylar Schneider and Leah Thomas. Coryn Labecki has crashed out of the competition last week. It's not known if USA Cycling will send a full squad. It will give the team several options during the race. The course is a mountain within the first 40k and it's a circuit of six laps. There's also a lot of turns. Eweers is looking forward to the event.
