Villarreal’s season so far assessed as Unai Emery makes Nicolas Jackson admission

Villarreal are sixth in La Liga with three wins and one loss in the opening six matches. They are also top of their Europa Conference League group. The team has conceded just two goals in that time. However, they have scored 10 goals with Arnaut Danjuma and Gerard Moreno missing games.

Unai Emery makes Nicolas Jackson an admission. Villarreal are the Stat Leaders (All Competitions). Dani Parejo is the top player in minutes, Alex Baena the most goalscorer, Yeremy Pino the second most assists and Giovani Lo Celso the best player with 15 tackles.

Alex Baena has been a standout player for the first team this season. Nicolas Jackson has impressed in pre-season, but needs to improve more. Alfonso Pedraza has stepped up after the departure of Pervis Estupinan.  Emery is betting on him. He believes he is in the process of growing. The first choice centre-backs have been solid at the back.

Danjuma and Gerard are set to return to full fitness. Villarreal have started the season well. They have played well against Real Betis and Sevilla.
