THE TEAM NEWS

WAKEFIELD TRINITY

  • Wakefield Trinity saw their relegation to the Championship confirmed as they suffered golden point heartache against Leigh Leopards last week.
  • The writing has been on the wall for a while for Trinity having lost their last six matches and they could opt to field an inexperienced side for this game as they begin to prepare for next season.

21-man squad: Jowitt, Lino, Battye, Hood, Ashurst, Tanginoa, Pitts, Kay, Bowden, Atoni, Kershaw, Windrow, Pratt, Dagger, Gale, Croft, Franco, Salabio, Griffin, Smith, Schofield

HULL KR

  • Hull KR were brilliant defensively as they prevailed in an error-strewn game with Salford Red Devils last week with that success securing their spot in the play-offs.
  • Rovers will now have their sights set on finishing above Leigh Leopards in the hope that they can secure a home play-off tie against the team they lost out to in this year’s Challenge Cup final.

21-man squad: Ryan, Opacic, Kenny-Dowall, Hall, Abdull, Sue, Parcell, King, Linnett, Minchella, Litten, Batchelor, Storton, Lewis, Milnes, Hadley, Senior, Luckley, Aydin, Walker, Schneider

THE PREDICTION

Wakefield Trinity have managed to win just four games all season and with their 22nd loss last week, they were relegated from Super League. They will end what has been a dreadful year with a clash against a Hull KR side that will believe they can go deep into the play-offs but will want to win this one first, knowing they have a chance of finishing in fourth. Rovers are building nicely having won their last four and while there is no longer any pressure on Wakefield, the gulf in quality is likely to be evident so back Hull KR to come out on top and cover the -12 handicap in the process.
