Warriors vs 76ers Picks, Predictions & Odds Tonight

Injuries are weighing down the 76ers, and they'll have to deal with the Warriors tonight without Embiid and possibly Maxey too. With Philly so shorthanded, our NBA picks are expecting the Dubs to cruise to a win.

Injuries are mounting for the Philadelphia 76ers, and with the Golden State Warriors coming to town tonight amidst a bit of a revival, things could get further out of hand for a team that was dreaming of the NBA Finals just a couple of weeks ago.

Can Golden State take advantage of a good matchup here and earn a much-needed win? The NBA odds sure think so.

Let's get right into it with my in-depth preview and free NBA picks for the Warriors vs. 76ers on Wednesday, February 7.

Warriors vs 76ers predictions

It’s bad enough Joel Embiid is currently on the shelf for the foreseeable future, joining the likes of Nic Batum and Robert Covington to put this team in a bit of a bind. Now the Philadelphia 76ers will enter Wednesday’s contest with Tyrese Maxey listed as questionable with an illness. Danuel House and Marus Morris — who have been heavily relied upon in the wake of all these injuries — are also questionable.

We’ve seen this offense crater in the last three games since Embiid went down, and even their win over the Jazz last weekend came by just three points and would not have been possible without Maxey’s 51 points. In the two games since, this team has been crushed by a combined 31 points and has continued to look poor on the defensive end as well.

With all of this, the Golden State Warriors have to be licking their chops. They’ve struggled defensively lately — but that’s been a common trend for the season. The bigger trend worth noting has been this team’s offensive output over the last four games, which has been excellent thanks to Steve Kerr finally limiting Klay Thompson’s minutes amidst a shooting slump.

The Warriors have been vulnerable inside this season, but without Embiid and potentially many more interior scorers, their defense should get a huge break against Philly and with that I expect Golden State to keep on chugging.

My best bet: Warriors -5 (-112 at DraftKings)

Warriors vs 76ers same-game parlay

Warriors -5

Klay Thompson Under 16.5 points

Jonathan Kuminga 20+ points

As I alluded to, things have become pretty dark for Klay Thompson. The veteran wing has fallen into a deep shooting slump, and as a result the Warriors have been going with guys who were in the G-League just days ago to close out games.

Thompson’s minutes are on the decline, and he’s failed to eclipse this number in his last the last three games. Even in his previous seven, he’s only hit 17 points twice. Considering he’s shooting under 30% from three in the last six contests, I have a hard time believing with diminishing volume he has a nice scoring night.

Finally, I'll go back to the well with Jonathan Kuminga. As guys like Thompson have taken on smaller roles, Kuminga’s has increased, and he’s scored 20 points now in nine of his last 10 games, averaging 24.9 over that span. With Philly’s defense in a state of peril, he should have no issues here.

Warriors vs 76ers spread and Over/Under analysis

This one’s a little tricky, because while the Sixers have been poor defensively, they’ve been unable to score much at all without Embiid in the lineup.

Given the nature of his injury, it does seem like Maxey should play here, and with that I think the Sixers should be able to score enough to cash an Over here against a Warriors defense which has been incredibly generous all season long. The pace has also picked up without Embiid, considering this is now Maxey’s show, and we should see plenty of possessions here as a result.

While 59% of the tickets wagered on the total ver at DraftKings have come in on the Over, a strong 73% of the money is heading that way. Similarly, the Warriors have commanded 70% of the bets and 84% of the handle.
