Wasserman: The price we’ll pay for College Football Playoff expansion

There is excitement about the expansion of the College Football Playoff. The positives of expansion are frequently highlighted in the media. There are some negatives to the current format. It takes away the magic from the big-time regular-season playoff games that already exist. All three losers of last weekend's games were represented in top 12 of College football playoff rankings. Ohio State and Michigan's game won't matter for the national title race. The only consequences of losing that game would be a lower seed and having to hear the opposing fan base talk trash. We're tired of same results every year. What do we do? We change the definition of success and change a team's definition.
