Way-Too-Early Mock Draft: Pittsburgh Steelers Find OT, CB if Drafting Today

The college football season is back in full swing. The Pittsburgh Steelers mock draft is based on current Super Bowl odds for the 2022 season.  The draft order is determined by current odds.

Pittsburgh drafted Paris Johnson Jr. in the first round with the 10th pick. Johnson played offensive tackle at Ohio State last season but was moved inside to guard. He is extremely athletic and explosive off the ball and has good movement skills. His pass blocking skills are good but he needs to improve his hand placement. Pittsburgh needs a new left tackle and Johnson's inexperience could be a problem.  Dan Moore allowed seven sacks last year as the left guard for the Steelers. It's fair to wonder if Johnson can be Kenny Pickett's blind side protector.

Cam Hart is a cornerback who switched to the position from wide receiver. He played 10 games as a junior at Notre Dame and started 10 of them. Hart has a unique build for a corner and is an aggressive player. His speed and change of direction are his weaknesses. Pittsburgh has two cornerbacks under contract for 2023. He's not generating enough buzz from the masses at the moment. However, he could be a good addition to a lethal Steelers defense.

DeMarvion Overshown is a former safety convert and a 6-4, 222-pound inside linebacker from Texas. He played his senior season at Texas and made a lot of plays. The team needs to get stronger to help him against the run. The Pittsburgh Steelers could use a linebacker to pair with Myles Jack. Devin Bush is probably out of the team in 2022.
