We simulated Arsenal vs Man City to get a Premier League score prediction

After losing their first Premier League game of the season, City will be looking to return to winning ways in the league with a tough clash against Arsenal.

A 2-1 defeat to Wolves saw City's lead at the top of the table cut to one point, with Pep Guardiola’s side fortunate Liverpool lost and remained two points behind the holders. City showed great character to come from behind to beat RB Leipzig 3-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday, and Guardiola will be hoping his side can carry that momentum into Sunday.

Arsenal are one of two unbeaten sides in the Premier League this season, with the Gunners City’s main title rivals throughout last season. They couldn’t trouble City in their two meetings last season, with Guardiola’s side winning 3-1 at the Emirates before a 4-1 victory at the Etihad.

So, what could happen on Sunday afternoon? Let's take a look.

We simulated Arsenal vs Man City to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that the Gunners could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Rice, Vieira, Odegaard; Saka, Jesus, Trossard.

We predict that City could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Dias, Ake; Kovacic, Bernardo, Alvarez; Foden, Haaland, Grealish.

The first half was extremely open as both sides came close, but City should've taken the lead with Erling Haaland guilty of missing two one-vs-ones in the final 10 minutes of the half. Arsenal started the better side in the second half, and City were made to pay for their missed chances as the Gunners took the lead.

Mateo Kovacic was caught in possession by Declan Rice on the halfway line, and the Englishman found Bukayo Saka on the right who led an Arsenal counter-attack. He cut inside before finding Martin Odegaard on the edge of the box, and the midfielder curled a fantastic strike into the bottom corner to send the Gunners ahead.

Bernardo Silva came close with a long-range effort moments after the Arsenal goal, but David Raya tipped his strike onto the post to keep the score at 1-0. Despite Jeremy Doku, Oscar Bobb and Matheus Nunes all coming on, Guardiola's side couldn't find a response as they fell to a 1-0 defeat in north London.
