We simulated Manchester United vs Everton to get a Premier League score prediction

Manchester United will be looking to build on their victory against Brentford and tighten their grip on a Premier League top-four spot when they face Everton at Saturday lunchtime.

Marcus Rashford scored the only goal of the game as United beat Brentford 1-0 at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, with the victory sending United back into the top four and ahead of Tottenham by three points. After a run of three league games without a win, United dropped to fifth in the table, but they have a chance to potentially push away from Spurs when they face Everton on Saturday.

Victory against the Toffees would send United into third and six points ahead of fifth place, with Spurs facing a tough clash against Brighton. The last meeting between United and Everton ended in a 3-1 win for Erik ten Hag's side in the FA Cup, with Antony and Rashford scoring either side of a Conor Coady own goal.

So, can United remain in the top four this weekend? We simulated the game to find out.

Manchester United vs Everton simulated

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that United could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia; McTominay, Sabitzer; Fernandes; Antony, Weghorst, Rashford.

We predict that the visitors could line up in a 4-5-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Tarkowski, Godfrey; Iwobi, Davies, Gueye, Onana, McNeil; Gray.

It was a very even contest in the opening 30 minutes of the game, with both sides creating a handful of chances whilst looking solid defensively. United were finding their best chances from corners despite Everton's usual dominance from set pieces, and Ten Hag's side took the lead after 37 minutes from this situation.

After Marcus Rashford's strike from the left was deflected behind for a corner, it was Bruno Fernandes who curled the set piece towards the back stick, A sea of bodies swarmed Wout Weghorst and Scott McTominay, but it was the latter who rose the highest, and he guided a powerful header in at the near post to put United in front.

Just before halftime, Fernandes tried his luck with a strike from 30 yards out, and the United captain was unlucky to see his effort rattle the post. In the second half, it was Everton who had more chances, but De Gea made some terrific saves to keep the lead intact.

With the difference just one goal, Everton threw everything at United in the closing stages of the game, but some good defending saw the hosts hold out for the 1-0 win.

FIFA 23 final score: Manchester United 1-0 Everton

FIFA 23 predicts that despite being far from the best, United won 1-0 in the simulation. A shaky performance saw Everton have the better chances, but a fantastic David De Gea display and some impressive defensive moments saw Ten Hag's side claim a big three points.
