Rodgers and Gang Green get a test right out of the gate as the three-time defending AFC East-champion Bills come to town.

Buffalo is a slight road favorite, but the line has held steady at a little less than a field goal. The game over/under total was at 45.5 entering the weekend.

The Jets infamously enter the season with the league’s longest playoff drought at 12 seasons. But they’re counting on the 39-year-old Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, to get them over the hump and into the dance.

That’s precisely what Allen, a 2018 first-round pick, has done for Buffalo, which has played in the postseason four straight years after appearing only once in the previous 19 seasons.

Both quarterbacks will be up against rugged defenses on Monday night, as the Bills allowed the league’s second-fewest points and the Jets the fourth fewest.

Since Allen’s arrival, the Bills have won seven of 10 meetings against the Jets, but they’ve split the against-the-spread battle 5-5.

The Empire State rivals split last season, each winning a one-score game at home. And that’s what we anticipate seeing this season now that the quarterback matchup has evened up considerably.

Usually we’d expect a new QB to take a few regular season games to mesh with his new offense. But Rodgers has a familiar offensive coordinator in former Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett and appears to have rapidly assimilated to his new environs.

And since the line is holding at less than a field goal, we’ll go with the fired-up Gang Green crew on the moneyline to win a tight game outright.

Rodgers has been a prolific TD pass producer, with 475 in 230 career regular season games, leading the league twice in that category.

The Buffalo secondary presents a Week 1 challenge after only surrendering 21 TD tosses in 17 games last season.

But with Rodgers having thrown multiple TD passes in 53 of 81 games over the past five seasons, we like the odds of two or more aerial scores Monday night in his N.Y. debut.

We also don’t mind the plus-money payoff on the prop as well.
