  • Kempton 2.45 - War Lord e/w - bet with BetUK
  • Uttoxeter 3.00- Iron Bridge - bet with BetMGM

2.10 Kempton - Alien Storm each-way

ALIEN STORM is one to take note of here stepping up in trip to 2m5f for the first time. The Charlie Longsdon representative hasn't won since his hurdling debut at Plumpton 19 months ago, but has run some eye-catching races in defeat, including when upped to an extended 2m3f at Doncaster last time out when plugging on into fourth.

Stamina looks to be his forte, so this extra distance can see him take a step forward here, with the added assistance of having Sean Bowen in the saddle and the tongue-tie on for the first time. It is also worth noting that he has now eased to a career-low mark of 120, so has major claims of that rating with underfoot conditions that will really suit.

From an each-way perspective, I think he is a serious player here and can go well for value backers.

2.45 Kempton - War Lord each-way

WAR LORD ran his best race for quite some time when third in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter in November, but since then the wheels have come off since.

The form of the Exeter run is working out a treat, and if War Lord can discover that form once again, he would be dangerously well handicapped coming into this assignment off a BHA mark of 136. Joe Tizzard's charge has some classy back-form as a Novice, including when runner-up in a Grade 1 at Sandown, and he ran a stormer to finish fourth in the Arkle.

Recent efforts suggest perhaps his powers are on the wane, but an extended 2m4f on Soft ground around a Flat track could prove ideal for him, and he is just too well treated on his early season form to ignore. Brendan Powell takes the ride on the 9-year-old, and War Lord could easily be capable of springing a surprise for each-way backers with Tom Cannon in the saddle.

3.00 Uttoxeter - Iron Bridge

This will be a proper war of attrition, and it can go the way of Welsh Grand National runner-up IRON BRIDGE. The 8-year-old is an out and out stayer who loves the mud, and off a mark of 140 could take all the beating here.

Underfoot conditions are going to be hard work, and that is when the Jonjo O'Neill trained representative can be seen to best effect. There are quite a few exposed sorts in this line up, whereas Iron Bridge brings a rather lightly-raced portfolio to the table in the context of this.

Jonjo Jnr will be doing the steering, and this combination can prove tough to beat in what will be an out-and-out marathon.

3.55 Kempton - Slipway each-way

The Ben Pauling team are in good form, and have had a Cheltenham Festival winner once again, and jockey Ben Jones rode his first. SLIPWAY has been disappointing in recent times, but has slipped to an attractive mark.

Off a rating of 132, he is now 1lb lower than when last successful - and that was when he bolted up at Fontwell in 2022. Things haven't gone right since, but this looks a much more feasible opportunity here in calmer waters, and he should be well served by the break, having been off the track for 91 days.

The horse has a good record when fresh so cannot be ruled out coming into this off the back of a break.
