Last night, Jon Jones created history. The American MMA fighter defeated Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 285 and captured the heavyweight title. With this, he even made it into the list of fighters who won championships in two different weight classes. 

The fight was quite crucial for Jones as he stepped inside the ring after three years. While everyone was expecting him to struggle in the match because of the long hiatus, Jon claimed the title by defeating Gane in just a few minutes of the first round via submission. The UFC fans were shocked to see this easy victory.

WWE superstars joined the celebration for the emphatic Jon Jones victory 

While UFC fans were celebrating Jon Jones’ victory, the WWE superstars also stepped forward and started to share their opinions on that amazing match. Baron Corbin, Cedric Alexander and, several other stars addressed Jon’s victory at UFC 285 via tweets.

The former WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin sarcastically said that he made “easy money” after betting on Jon Jones’ victory via submission.

Jon Jones’ epic comeback after three-year-long hiatus 

The victory was quite crucial for Jon. He had been a part of several controversies outside the octagon. After the match, while addressing the press, Jon thanked fans for accepting him even after those controversies.

Jon Jones holds the record of being the longest-reigning UFC light heavyweight championship. He held the title for 1501 days. In May 2020, Jones had a conflict with UFC president Dana White. The reason behind the conflict was Jones’ dissatisfaction regarding the pay. And in August 2020, Jon finally relinquished his UFC light heavyweight championship. 

However, Jones returned to grab the heavyweight title this time. And last night, when he returned, he created history.
