Pep Guardiola's Manchester City have been slowly gaining ground on Arsenal at the top of the table as Mikel Arteta's side look to put their recent form behind them in this mammoth title showdown

Arsenal and Man City will battle it out in a crunch title clash this week

It all comes down to this.

Ok, not quite, but as far as title deciders go, this long-awaited clash will play a huge role in determining where the Premier League trophy will end up this season.

Arsenal have been leading the way at the top of the table throughout the campaign, with Manchester City keeping pace behind. Now Pep Guardiola's side have their fate in their own hands as they close in on the Gunners for the final stages of the title race.

A win for City would leave them just two points behind with two games in hand and surely on course to end the season as champions, while Arsenal are hoping to put a stop to a run of three successive draws to try and battle their way back into a position of strength.

Here is all you need to know about the crunch clash...

Arsenal are still without William Saliba as Mikel Arteta admitted the defender has not made any progress with his recovery from injury.

Saliba has already missed five matches with an ongoing back problem which has coincided with Arsenal's downturn in results and Arteta told a press conference on Tuesday: "There’s not been a real improvement unfortunately on him. So we are still waiting.

William Saliba is no closer to a return for Arsenal amid an ongoing back injury

"We are still hopeful but obviously it is another week that has gone by and he hasn’t been able to train with the team.”

Arteta also confirmed midfielder Granit Xhaka was a doubt for the clash against City after he was absent for the recent draw with Southampton.

City's only injury concern is defender Nathan Ake, who is expected to miss the fixture with a thigh issue.
