Tottenham and Arsenal face off in the 194th North London Derby on Sunday as the Gunners look to do the double over their local rivals for the first time since 2013/14

Tottenham face Arsenal on Sunday afternoon

Arsenal will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they face Tottenham in the North London Derby on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta's side were held to a goalless draw against Newcastle in their most recent top-flight outing as they squandered the chance to maintain their commanding lead at the top of the table. Nonetheless, the Gunners have picked up 43 points from a possible 51 so far this season and have lost just once - a 3-1 defeat at Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Spurs sit just outside the Champions League places and will be keen to register back-to-back league wins for the first time since October when they host the Gunners. Antonio Conte's men ran out 4-0 winners over Crystal Palace last Wednesday thanks to a Harry Kane brace and goals from Son Heung-min and Matt Doherty.

Both teams progressed through to the fourth round of the FA Cup as Arsenal beat Oxford and Tottenham secured a narrow win over Portsmouth last weekend.

When is Tottenham vs Arsenal?

Tottenham's clash with Arsenal will kick-off at 4:30pm on Sunday, January 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The two teams last met back in October as the Gunners sealed a 3-1 victory thanks to goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka. Kane had brought Spurs level from the penalty spot after Partey's opener, but Emerson Royal's red card changed the complexion and Arsenal went on to triumph.

However, Tottenham thrashed Arsenal the last time the sides faced at Spurs' new home, with Kane's double taking them one step closer to the Champions League back in May. In total, the teams have played each other 193 times, with 81 wins for Arsenal and 61 victories for Spurs.

Team news

Bukayo Saka is set to be fit for the North London Derby after picking up a knock in the Gunners' win over Oxford in the FA Cup on Monday night. The winger took a kick in the game but Arteta has confirmed he expects him to be ready for the trip to Tottenham. He said of the England star: "I think he will be okay, yes."

Jesus (knee) and Reiss Nelson (muscle) remain on the injury list but Emile Smith Rowe made his long-awaited return as a substitute in midweek and could feature in the game.

Meanwhile, Conte said on Friday that Dejan Kulusevski was "ready to play" but added that the club wouldn’t "take risks" with Rodrigo Bentancur and Richarlison, who are nearing comebacks and will be assessed in training. Lucas Moura remains out and will not be available to face Arsenal.
