What the projections expect from the Seattle Kraken in 2022-23

The 2022-23 NHL season is less than a week away. The standings projections are available on various sites and companies. Seattle Kraken are expected to finish in the bottom half of the Pacific Division.

The HockeyViz projections are more clustered than the other models. The lone prediction that the Kraken will repeat as the last place team in the division came from Micah Blake McCurdy’s Hockey Viz.

Both MoneyPuck and The Athletic give Seattle around a 30% chance at making the playoffs this season. DraftKings Sportsbook is setting the over/under on standings points for the Kraken at 82.5. The playoff probability for Seattle sits at 25%. The performance of Philipp Grubauer and the start rookies Matty Beniers and Shane Wright will be key to the team's success.

The Kraken have one of the worst core groups in the league. However, they have a very strong supporting cast, especially up front. The team is 6.9 wins better than last year's full-season group.
