INJURY RAVAGED MUNSTER

Peter O'Mahony has given a major fitness update ahead of the provinces Champions Cup clash against Toulon.

And it's good news for the Ireland legend as coaching staff revealed they hope that he'll be fit for Saturday's clash.

The former Munster skipper has been sidelined sidelined since November, last appearing in a URC outing against the Stormers.

News of an imminent return will spell good news for boss Graham Rowntree with his side ravaged by injury.

Speaking with media earlier today, attack coach Mike Prendergast revealed that they hope to have Joey Carbery and O'Mahony back for the European clash.

He said: "Well, we trained today and genuinely the likes of Joey Carbery and Peter O’Mahony looked good today.

"So, hopefully things going well those two stick out at the moment.

‘We had a good training session yesterday, a good one today.

"We’ll know more on Thursday but in terms of process and steps, he looks like he’s moving forward towards the weekend and hopefully, all going well, we’ll have him.’

Nearly 20 players are out for Munster in what has become an unprecedented injury crisis.
