Turfway Park will open its new gaming facility on Sept. 1, 2022. It will feature 840 historical horse racing machines. The facility will be ready for the Kentucky Derby. Turf Way Park opened in 1959 as the Latonia Race Course in Florence. It was bought by Churchill Downs in 2019. Kentucky legalized historical racing in 2021.
