Chelsea vs Newcastle predicted lineups

Frank Lampard has switched between the 3-5-2 formation and 4-3-3 during his time as interim manager, and he is likely to go with the latter in this game, as he did at United in the 4-1 midweek defeat.

Benoit Badiashile and N'Golo Kante are both out with groin injuries while Ben Chilwell and Marcus Bettinelli are sidelined with muscle problems. Mason Mount (pelvis), Reece James (hamstring) and Armando Broja (knee) have all been ruled out for the final game of the season. Marc Cucurella is also on the injury list with a thigh problem.

Chelsea (4-3-3, right to left): Kepa (GK) — Azpilicueta, Silva, Koulibaly, Hall —  Gallagher, Fernandez, Loftus-Cheek — Madueke, Havertz, Sterling

  • Injured: Badiashile, Kante, Chilwell, Bettinelli, Mount, James, Broja, Cucurella
  • Suspended: None

Howe has not moved away from his 4-3-3 shape all season as his Newcastle players are now very familiar with their roles when on the pitch.

Midfielders Joelinton and Joe Willock are both out with a muscle injury. Matt Ritchie and Emil Krafth have knee injuries while Nick Pope is set to miss out in the league for the first time this season with a hand injury. Jamal Lascelles will not make it back for the final game of the season due to a calf injury.

Newcastle (4-3-3, right to left): Dubravka (GK) — Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn — Longstaff, Guimaraes, Anderson — Almiron, Wilson, Isak

  • Injured: Joelinton, Willock, Ritchie, Krafth, Pope, Lascelles
