The Shriners Children’s Open is a professional golf tournament that attracts many of the world’s top golfers and awards them with FedExCup points. The tournament is held annually in Las Vegas at the TPC Summerlin, honored by Golf Digest magazine as “One of America’s Best Golf Courses.” Since its establishment in 1983, the event has raised funds for the Shriners Children’s Hospital.

TPC Summerlin is a golf course located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The course is designed as a par 71, measuring 7,255 yards. It is a well-known venue that professional golfers frequently visit. The course has several water features that add to the game’s challenge. The lush bentgrass greens provide a smooth surface for putting and add to the overall aesthetic of the course. Additionally, the course is surrounded by canyons, which add to the landscape’s beauty and provide a unique challenge for golfers. With its challenging layout and stunning scenery, TPC Summerlin is a must-play course for any golf enthusiast.

The tournament features a purse of $8.4 million and has seen some of the most recognized names in golf taking part, including Tiger Woods, who won his inaugural PGA TOUR title here in 1996. Other past winners include Greg Norman, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk, Webb Simpson, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Cantlay, Kevin Na, Sungjae Im, and most recently in 2022, Tom Kim.

Tom Kim, the defending champion, is set to defend his title from last year at the 2023 Shriners Children’s Open and is currently the 10-1 favorite in the odds. Despite playing through an ankle injury at The Open, he has secured five top-25 finishes since then. He hopes to make it back-to-back wins in Las Vegas.

Kim has been in good form recently, finishing T-18 at the BMW PGA Championship and T-6 at the French Open on the DP World Tour, since finishing tied for 20th at the Tour Championship.

Kim will be joined in the field by Ludvig Aberg, a European Ryder Cupper who finished T-2 at the Sanderson Farms Championship last week, Si Woo Kim, Cam Davis, J.T. Poston, and Chicken Open winner Luke List.

This week’s tournament winner will receive $1.512 million and 500 FedEx Cup points.
