Why FC Dallas will win MLS Cup and why they will not

The MLS playoffs begin this weekend. FC Dallas has a good chance of winning the MLS Cup. Here are some reasons why they can win it and why FCDallas will probably lose before the Cup final.

FC Dallas has the best goals-against average in the Western Conference and second best in MLS overall. Jesus Ferreira wants to follow in his dad's footsteps as a Designated Player and a leader on the team. If Velasco, Ferrreiro and Arriola go off, they will create more dangerous opportunities on goal. The Western conference is very doable. Minnesota is banged up in key spots, Austin hasn't been great since mid-July and LAFC could be upset by either LA Galaxy or Nashville SC.

Nobody on the team has more than three goals this season. The team needs to play with more attacking players. They need to win on road and avoid upsets. FC Dallas has the seventh-best chance to host an MLS Cup. If they win, they will have to go to Austin, LA, Philadelphia, Montreal or New York.
