William Hill's Nevada App Haults Sports Betting Access During Update

The legal sports betting operator announced to its customers Monday that it shut down the mobile version to upgrade to a “new and improved” app as NFL preseason is underway and college football is less than two weeks from the first games.

William Hill Nevada’s sportsbook app is getting a facelift just in time for football season.

The legal sports betting operator announced to its customers Monday that it shut down the mobile version to upgrade to a “new and improved” app as NFL preseason is underway and college football is less than two weeks from the first games.

As of Tuesday, the updating process was continuing. Wagering, withdrawing, and depositing options were unavailable. William Hill assured customers that funds and open bets “will be fully maintained and unaffected by the transition.”

The popular operator said business will resume as normal as soon as possible, and they would continue to provide updates throughout the changeover.

Similar to Caesars

Exactly what changes are coming to the William Hill app are still unknown. This process comes months after the mobile site crashed just before the start of Super Bowl LVI, causing a frenzy among customers who couldn’t bet on the big game or withdraw winnings for a couple of days.

It’s also been two months since Caesars, which owns the U.S. stake in London-based online sports betting site William Hill, integrated its former William Hill-powered Nevada sportsbook app into a new platform that was already being used in several other states.

The William Hill Nevada update is expected to be similar to that change.

Williams Hill’s U.S. company runs 113 race and sportsbooks in Nevada, and its app serves more Silver State casinos than any other operator. William Hill also operates three sportsbooks and an online app in New Jersey as well as runs sportsbooks in Indiana, West Virginia,Iowa, and Washington, D.C.
