Wisconsin vs. Ohio State predictions: Expert college football picks, odds

Wisconsin and Ohio State kick off their Big Ten season at the Horseshoe on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. No. 3 Ohio state is aiming to beat Wisconsin for the ninth consecutive time.

Wisconsin will need to keep up with Ohio State's firepower to win. The Badgers will also need running back Braelon Allen to be effective.

Both teams are coming off fabulous offensive outings. Ohio State walloped Toledo 77-21 and Wisconsin crushed New Mexico State 66-7. C.J. Stroud has passed for 941 yards and 11 touchdowns without an interception. Wisconsin lost to Washington State 17-14 two weeks ago.

Wisconsin features star running back Braelon Allen. Ohio State's defense is ranked 24th nationally in rushing defense. Quarterback Graham Mertz is not the ideal option to throw the ball 35 or 40 times against Ohio state's stellar defensive personnel. Wisconsin's style should be enough to keep the game under the projected 57 points.

C.J. Stroud has two wideouts averaging over 100 receiving yards per game. He has passed for nine touchdowns over the last two games, including five in the shellacking of Toledo.
