Wizards vs. Hawks prediction and odds for Tuesday, February 28 (Atlanta stays hot)

The Atlanta Hawks have won both of their games since the All-Star break, and they are major favorites at home on Tuesday against the Washington Wizards.

Washington was blown out by the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, and it’s looking like it won’t have Kristaps Porzingis (doubtful) for the second straight game.

That’s a good sign for Atlanta, as the Wizards lack an inside scoring presence, and rim protection, whenever Porzingis sits out.

The Hawks are alive for the No. 7 seed in the East, sitting just 1.5 games back of Miami, but can they cover this spread against Washington?

Here are the latest odds:

Wizards vs. Hawks prediction and pick

Atlanta has gone just 10-14 against the spread as a home favorite this season, but I’m going to trust the Hawks to stay hot in this game.

Washington isn’t great against the spread as a road underdog this season, going 12-12-2, and the team really struggled on offense on Sunday, scoring just 82 points.

Even though the Hawks rank 20th in the NBA in net rating, Washington is somehow worse, clocking in at No. 22 this season. The Wizards are also just a game ahead of the Bulls for the No. 10 seed, and they’ve had a habit for slipping in and out of winning streaks all season.

Atlanta’s offense is humming right now, scoring 136 and 129 points in its first two games after the break. Firing Nate McMillan may have jump started this Hawks team, and I’m going to ride the momentum until the team starts losing.
