Stars of the turf gathered in Woolsthorpe on the eve of May Racing Carnival to raise more than $100,000 for three charities. Colin and Janice McKenna organised the event. They will donate to the charities if their horse Grandslam wins the Warrnambool Cup. The event was an outstanding success. The money raised will go to worthwhile charities, including the National Jockeys Trust, Standing Tall Warrambol and The Lookout residential drug rehabilitation centre in Warnambul. Mr McKenna has a share in the $1.5 million Warrenambolo Cup favourite Grandlam.
