World Cup 2022: Australia, Kangaroos, team, selection, who plays halfback, Nathan Cleary, Daly Cherry-Evans, Harry Grant, Ben Hunt

Australia's first two games at the World Cup were good for Mal Meninga. He has to choose a team for the finals. The biggest question is who will play halfback. Other positions are hooking, outside backs and forwards. Jack Wighton is happy to play in any position. Australia take on Italy on Saturday at 5.30 am AEDT. Australia's second game was against Scotland. They won the game. It's worth noting that the players who played in the second match played against a weaker team.

Nathan Cleary, Daly Cherry-Evans, Harry Grant and Ben Hunt are vying for halfback position ahead of Australia’s final pool game and the World Cup finals.

Josh Addo-Carr has started both games of the World Cup. He has scored six tries, a try assist, seven linebreaks, 13 tackle busts and 378 running metres. Murray Taulagi played in the other wing spot. Campbell Graham played specialist centre for the second game. Valentine Holmes played centre in first game but dropped back to the bench for second.

Latrell Mitchell and Valentine Holmes played well in the centres for Australia's first pool game against Fiji. Jack Wighton and Matt Burton played in centres against Scotland. Wibail was instrumental in both games. Matt Burton scored twice and made eight tackles with zero misses. Jack Burton scored, got a linebreak, a Linebreak assist and ran for 104 metres.

Daly Cherry-Evans and Nathan Cleary are the only players who haven't played in the grand final. Cleare made his Kangaroos debut at halfback in their second game. Damien Cook claims Clearing and Munster are going into the quarter-finals. It's unclear if they will play in halves with Munsters rested or if one will start on the bench.

Both Ben Hunt and Harry Grant will start for Australia against Scotland. Hunt started in the first game and was replaced by Grant six minutes before half time. Grant played well out of dummy half and got the starting spot for game two. The tables turned in game against Fiji. He played more of a starring role this time and dominated the game. He had a try, two try assists, three tackle busts, a linebreak, line Break assist and two offloads.

Jake Trbojevic and Tino Fa’asuamaleaui started in the first pool game with Patrick Carrigan and Reuben Cotter on the bench. Carrani was promoted to the starting pack for game two and was joined by Reagan Campbell-Gillard up front. Trbojevics and Fa'asu amaleaoi will start with Reagan and Campbell Gillard on bench, while Cotters was ruled out of the second game.

Angus Crichton started in the second row in both games. Jeremiah Nanai played in his place against Fiji and Scotland. Liam Martin replaced him against Scotland and played well. Cameron Murray played lock in first game and then sat out of the other. He's expected to be in Australia's team for the World Cup 2022.

Isaah Yeo is almost a certainty to start at lock for Australia in the 2022 World Cup. He scored a try and made 15 tackles with zero misses in Australia's second game.
