France won the World Cup 2018 in Russia. They finished top of Group D ahead of Argentina, Nigeria and Iceland. France beat Croatia 4-2 in the final in Moscow.

The World Cup 2022 will be held in November and December. The previous World Cups were held during the summer. Qatar was chosen as the host nation in 2010. It was a controversial decision. There are allegations of corruption and migrant worker deaths in Qatar.  6500 migrant workers died in the country since Qatar won the World cup. They died because of building of stadia.
