Jessica Hallett's father, John, trains and owns a stable of 10 horses racing at Tioga Downs. Jessica's mother, Michelle, has been in the business for almost 52 years. She helps with the grooming and paddocking and she recently started writing for several racing publications. She wants to become a licensed owner one day. The sport of harness racing is in decline due to casinos and cheating allegations. It was once the fastest-growing sport in America. Now it's losing popularity due in part to the opening of casinos. There are some young people who have grown up in it.
