Xavi wants three exit-linked Barcelona stars to continue at the club

With less than 48 hours left before the transfer window comes to a halt, Barcelona could be gearing up for some serious activity on both incoming and outgoing fronts.

Ansu Fati and Clement Lenglet are on their way out of the club while work is being done to bring in Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix.

At the same time, there are a few more players who have been linked with an exit late in the window, with Ez Abde, Eric Garcia, and Marcos Alonso still said to be staring at uncertain futures.

But, according to Gabriel Sans of Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez does not want to see any more exits once Ansu departs and wishes to retain the aforementioned trio of Abde, Garcia, and Alonso.

Abde has been seeking a greater involvement on the field and wants a guarantee from the club in order for him to stay.

Xavi counts on the 21-year-old Moroccan and believes that he can be a differential player for the team due to his dribbling and speed on the flanks. As such, he wishes to retain the winger.

As for Garcia, the defender had a meeting with Xavi and informed the manager that he wants to leave on loan with Girona interested.

But the Barcelona head coach insisted that he counts on the 22-year-old and needs him in the squad, a message that has been carried to the club as well.

Finally, Alonso’s future was drawn into speculations due to interest from Manchester United. But things seem to have gone quiet on that front with the Red Devils moving for Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella.

As such, the veteran left-back appears set to stay, which is what Xavi wishes for.
