Yankees release former All-Star right-handed pitcher

Danny Salazar was released by the Yankees on Tuesday.

Salazar was an All-Star in 2016, but he needed shoulder surgery and hasn't pitched professionally since 2019. He was released by Cleveland and signed by the Yankees on May 13.

Aaron Judge has 11 multi-home run games this season. He has 27 career multi home runs. His 59 HR are the third-most in a single season in Yankees history and American League history. He is the seventh player to hit at least 59HR in one season and the ninth in Major League History. With his next HR, he will become the sixth player in history to have at atleast 60 HR in the same season, following Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Hank Greenberg.

His 27 career multi-HR games are the second-most in Major League history through 714 career games. His 59 HR are tied for the third- most in a single season in Yankees history and American League. He is the seventh player to hit at least 59HR in one season and the ninth in the history of Major Leagues.
