Yo Cuz, Galaxina Face Elders in $125K NYSSS Staten Island

Yo Cuz wins the Maddie May Feb. 21 at Aqueduct.

Yo Cuz and Galaxina are racing against elders in the $125,000 Staten Island division of the New York Stallion Stakes Series. The race is for eligible New Yorkers 3-years-old and upward going seven furlongs. Yo Craz has been out of action since finishing last of 7 in Belmont Park's Bouwerie on May 30. She has a record of 6-3-0-1 and field-best earnings of $401,675.

Yo Cuz won three stakes earlier this year. She was given some time off. Galaxina had a layoff. They will meet in a race at Saratoga Race Course. They are going to race against older horses. The winner will be allowed to keep the other two horses for a future race. It will take place on September 14. Yo Craz will have the riding services of Jose Ortiz. He has piloted her in all six of her lifetime starts. In addition, Galxina will ride a horse trained by H. James Bond. His horse won the New York Oaks on July 25. Their horse was trained in the same stable as Colonel Liam.
