Yoshinobu Yamamoto next team odds: Complete list of landing spots

Oddsmakers are overwhelmingly projecting Japanese star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto to land in New York this offseason.

DraftKings has projected the Mets at +170 to land Yamamoto, giving them a 37.04 percent chance to land the prized right-hander as the clear favorites.

The Yankees have the third-best odds at +450, one spot below the Dodgers with +320 odds.

The 25-year-old Yamamoto is expected to land a contract worth more than $200 million, according to The Post’s Joel Sherman, who noted that Yamamoto has six solid pitches.

The only issue is that he comes in at 5-foot-10, leading many to question just how much team will be willing to pony up that kind of dough for a pitcher that small in stature.

Sherman noted the poor track record of paying small pitchers, including Giants righty Tim Lincecum, who was among the league’s best and won two Cy Young Awards in his second and third seasons before his body fell apart.

It seems that these next team odds are going to consistently favor the teams who have the most money because, theoretically, they will sign the most free agents.

Yamamoto doesn’t just carry a lot of potential as a future ace, but he also doesn’t cost any draft pick compensation, so any team signing him gets to hold onto its first-round pick.

With the Yankees and Mets both in the top three in odds, DraftKings projects a greater than 50 percent chance (55.12 percent) that Yamamoto lands with one of the New York teams.

Yamamoto has produced three straight incredible seasons in Japan, leading the league in wins, ERA and strikeouts in each year.
