Zipse: Gouverneur Morris tries Florida Derby amid uncertainty

Gouverneur Morris is a son of Constitution, the stallion that won the Florida Derby on five occasions. The horse was bought by Team Valor International for $600,000. He won his debut race at Saratoga with a nine-length margin. The Florida derby is one of the preps for the Kentucky Derby. It is held at Gulfstream Park. Constitution's other sons Independence Hall and Tiz the Law are also expected to take part. They are trained by Todd Pletcher. WinStar Farm is also a minority partner in the colt. Gouvernur is the highest-priced son or daughter of a stallions bought in 2019.
