2022 NFL Preview: Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers signed a three-year, $150.8 million extension with the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are the fifth pick to win the Super Bowl in 2022.
Aaron Rodgers is coming off back-to-back MVP seasons. Allen Lazard is the Packers' top receiver, but Sammy Watkins signed in free agency and Randall Cobb is a holdover from 2021. The Packers will lean on the run game with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.
The Green Bay Packers defense is expected to improve in the coming season. The team ranked 10th in allowed points per game and 8th for yards per match. Rashan Gary, Preston Smith and Kenny Clark are returning to the team. New additions Jarran Reed and Devonte Wyatt will improve the interior defensive line. All-Pro De’Vondre Campbell will be one of the leaders of it. In the first round of draft, the Packers added linebacker Quay Walker from Georgia. NFL lines give him +1200 odds to win Defensive Rookie of Year.

Rodgers is the team strength. The team's run game should be exceptional this season. On defense, the secondary could be excellent with Alexander returning and Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage returning.
Green Bay Packers are one of the sportsbook's Super Bowl favorites. The team's weaknesses are in wide receiver and defensive line.
Green Bay Packers are big favorites to win the NFC North. They could advance far into the playoffs, but defeating the Los Angeles Rams or Tampa Bay Buccaneers looks out of reach.
