49ers vs. Seahawks line, odds and predictions: Our experts like San Francisco to win on Thanksgiving

A battle between two of the best teams in the NFC West is on tap for Thanksgiving evening when the San Francisco 49ers (7-3) travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks (6-4), who are right behind the 49ers in the standings. The 49ers are favored by more than a touchdown.

Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET Thursday from Lumen Field in Seattle. NBC will broadcast the game.

News and notes for Seahawks vs. 49ers

  • Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith suffered a bruise to his triceps area in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but Seattle coach Pete Carroll expects him to play in Thursday night’s game.
  • The San Francisco defense suffered a major injury this past Sunday when Talanoa Hufanga, one of the league’s brightest young stars at safety, suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season. He was a first-team All-Pro a year ago.
  • Concerns over 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy are a distant memory. He has thrown for 629 yards and six touchdowns in the past two weeks. His passer rating has topped 148 in both games, including a perfect 158.3 mark on Sunday. He gets to go against a Seahawks defense that ranks 19th in points against and 23rd in yards against.
  • The Seahawks are a touchdown underdog at home, an unheard-of number for them at Lumen Field. They are 15-7 against the spread as home underdogs since 2011. The 49ers are just 1-4 against the spread in their past five games and 1-4 against the spread in their past five games as favorites.
