'Always A Longshot': $1,500 Filly Takes On Indiana Oaks With Help From Above

Edward "Bow" Boerjan bought Molecules for $1,500 at Keeneland's 2016 January sale. Boersjan died last November. Dawn Fontenot took care of Molecule and gave her to Morgan Thilo. Thilos is going to ride Molecles in Saturday's $200,000, Grade 3 Indiana Oaks at Indiana Grand.  Molecules won her debut at 27-1. She lost an allowance race against older fillies by a nose. On May 30 she won a straight 3-year-old allowance. The jockey is married to Thulos' mother. He also serves as the exercise rider.

Fontenot hopes Molecules will win and put money down for college for his grandkids. Fontenott and his family have worked hard for their money.
