Arc de Triomphe: Banned jockey Christophe Soumillon free to ride in £4million race as punters slate length of suspension

Christophe Soumillon was cleared to ride Vadeni in Sunday's Arc de Triomphe despite elbowing Rossa Ryan off his horse mid-race. He was banned for 60 days. The ban does not start until October 14. Some punters are angry about the length of the ban. They are also angry that he can take part in the £4 million race at Longchamp.

Christophe Soumillon was banned for two months for dangerous behaviour. Ryan was injured in the fall. He will not be able to ride in a number of races. He is free to take part in Sunday's Arc de Triomphe. His ban will also prevent him from taking part at British Champions Day, Breeders' Cup and the Japan Cup.
