The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Houston Astros 7-0 in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead in the World Series. The Phils are now -155 favorites to win the series. Aaron Nola is expected to pitch the team to a commanding 3- 1 series lead.
Nola had a poor outing in the series opener against the Phillies. Cristian Javier is a two-pitch pitcher with a changeup and a curveball. Javier posted elite numbers for the Astros in 2022. He ranked in 96th percentile in xERA, 98th in expected batting average, 95th and 95% in slugging percentage and 82nd in hard-hit rate.
Both bullpens should be in decent shape, but the Astros have a slight advantage because they had two days off before Tuesday's blowout. The Phillies used four relievers behind Ranger Suarez, and only Nick Nelson was really taxed. Javier and Nola will start for the Phillies on Wednesday.
